The plane picked up passengers in Auckland and Christchurch. - the navigation equipment didn't work well near the poles so had issues in Antarctica - Mt Erebus is an active volcano on Ross Island - The plane was only supposed to drop to 6,000 feet when flying near Mt Erebus. - They were 30/40 feet away from where they thought they were because of the course change. -The flight was a sight seeing trip that cost $359 pp - There were 237 passengers and 20 crew on board the flight. - The plane descends to 1500 feet as they make there way around ross island -1249 the alarm tells them to pull up. - Investigators say a serve -bodies had to be chipped out of the ice and snow after the crash.  

-10 police officers were sent down to the Erebus crash site to find the bodies.

instruction 

1. get your equipment
2. then break a piece of cabbage and put it in the beaker
3. put 100ml of hot water, over cabbage
4. put 2cm of acid in one test tube and 2 cm of hydroxide in another test tube
5. Drop purple cabbage water into each test tube
6. Take a sample of acid and hydroxide to combine to then make purple, blue and green colours

Making Sherbet

Aim:

Instructions:

1 get my cup

2 add icing sugar, baking powder and raro to the cup

3 add half of a teaspoon of citric acid to the cup

4 mix it with the popsicle stick and eat!

result:

it was sour but when I swished it in my mouth it got sweet and it had a sweet taste. It was also fizzy in my mouth.

Conclusion:

 the citric acid when mixed with sodium bicarbonate they create a big volcano thing inside your mouth as the bicarbonate reacts with acid and fizzes

                       3 WHAT IS GINGER BEER? Ginger beer is a naturally fizzy beverage with a sweet and spicy bite. Grated ginger is fermented in sugar water and lemon juice, allowing the natural yeasts in ginger to feed and multiply, creating a probiotic beverage.

this is my full cup it was disgusting i can't describe the taste it a biter mess

The Ballantynes Fire

 This week for our disasters hurumanu we are looking at the Ballantynes Fire.

- There was a fire on November 18th 1974, because it told me in the title.

1. It was an exclusive store because it was for rich people- the girls wore hats and gloves and the men wore suits. 

2. In Christchurch City. 

3. On November the 18th 1947, at 3.46pm and it didn't end until the embers went out 4 days later.

 We have been learning about different types of  movement of shapes like rotation reflection translation and enlargement.

   So this is what we have been looking at this is my one i have enlarge  my shape by doubling the space and with  the rotating shape i have rotated by 90 degree for reflect i have just flipped the shape rand so it the same just flip but  for   translate  is the essayist it stay the same you  just move it  down
